Signing out of old phones
Company owned iPhones must have their Passcode removed and be signed out from any Apple ID before being turned in when leaving or after an Upgrade.
Turn off the passcode
The first step is to remove the Passcode from the phone.
- Go to Settings
, then do one of the following:
- On an iPhone with Face ID: Tap Face ID & Passcode.
- On an iPhone with a Home button: Tap Touch ID & Passcode.
- tap Turn Passcode Off.
Sign out
Next, make sure to Sign Out from your Apple ID.
- Go to Settings
- tap your name at the top of the list
- Scroll down to the bottom.
- Tap Sign Out.
- Enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off.
- Tap Sign Out again to confirm that you want to sign out of iCloud.
Finally, Erase your iPhone and restore factory settings
- Go to Settings
> General > Reset
- tap Erase all Contents and Settings
- Wait for all content to be safely removed from your device.
After these steps the phone should be at the initial startup screen, ready for a new person to start using it with "hello" in various languages.
