Changing multi monitor setups can cause windows to appear off the visible screen space. Clicking on the icon in the app in the taskbar will only minimize and reopen the app to it's position outside of the screen space.
To fix windows appearing off-screen in a multi-monitor setup, right-click the app in the taskbar while holding the Shift key and select 'Maximize'. Then, drag the window out of the maximized state to reposition it on the visible screen.
Steps to fix in Windows:
- Hold Shift + Right-click on the app in the taskbar
- Select 'Maximize'
- Drag the window out of being maximized
Alternative steps
- Hover your mouse over the application name on your task bar
- Right-click on the thumbnail preview that appears and choose Move.
- Tap any arrow key a few times, then move your mouse. The application window will snap to your mouse cursor and clicking will place it at the new location.
